pastor Paul Newell

“grew up” around church and committed his life to Jesus Christ as a young child. The majority of his childhood years were spent in Bakersfield and then Vallejo (San Francisco Bay Area), California.

Paul’s heart for people was evident even as a teenager when he volunteered as a Children’s Church leader and church bus “captain” bringing many families to church.

After graduating from college where he met his wife, Terrie, Paul spent time as a Junior High school teacher and youth pastor. Paul and Terrie have lived in San Diego, Vallejo, Napa Valley, Lake County, and now the Pass Area of Riverside County.

Prior to moving to the Beaumont Area to begin ChuchForFamily, Paul spent six years as the Senior Pastor of First Baptist Church of Lakeport, California where the 140 year old church grew from an average weekly attendance of 40 to 200.

During more than twenty-five years of marriage Paul and Terrie have been convinced that helping families come together is the greatest investment they can make. It is with that heart for families that they founded what they envision as a truly family-focused, Christ-centered church.

Paul and Terrie have four children: Benjamin, Promise Anne and twins, Joylyn and Marilyn. Paul also has a dachshund named Diet Dr. Pepper.

They enjoy spending time with their children, going to the beach and Paul is a wannabe author, and golfer. Terrie is a musician, teaches beginner piano and enjoys anything dealing with the arts.
